Vitamin D Advice: Aged 60 and older
New NHS Vitamin D Guidelines
The NHS has issued new Vitamin D advice recommending that everyone considers taking a daily 10 microgram serving of Vitamin D. The NHS advice is designed to ward off Vitamin D deficiency and support immune system function throughout the lockdown period. The European Commission has further recommendations specifically for people aged 60 and older, to keep bones and muscles healthy.
Over 60s are most likely to be negatively affected by current social distancing advice. Those aged 70 or over are recommended to self isolate as much as possible during the lockdown period.
Typically, during the summer months, humans generate sufficient Vitamin D from UltraViolet Light (UV). Yet, the lockdown means fewer people have access to regular sunlight to support healthy Vitamin D levels.
At servings of at least 15 micrograms per daily portion, Vitamin D helps to reduce the risk of falling associated with postural instability and muscle weakness. Falling is a risk factor for bone fractures among men and women 60 years of age and older.
By taking just 6 drops per day of Vitamin D Dragonfly CBD Oil, you can help stave off postural instability and muscle weakness, in combination with an added 15 mg of CBD.
This beneficial effect is obtained if the total daily Vitamin D intake totals 20 micrograms from all sources.
This period has been difficult for so many people, separated from their older loved ones. With Vitamin D Dragonfly CBD Oil, you can ensure your parent or elderly loved one gets the supplements they need. In this instance, Dragonfly CBD offers a good serving of both Vitamin D and CBD. In addition, Vitamin D helps maintain normal immune function and keeps bones, muscles and teeth healthy.
